Narcissistic abuse can have long lasting effects on a person's self-esteem and perception of the world around them. In this 2-hour course, clinicians will learn how to identify clients who have endured narcissistic abuse, either in their childhoods or in current relationships, and review proper treatment approaches for these clients. Due to the nature of narcissistic abuse, clients may have a difficult time trusting themselves, and struggle to come to acceptance. This training includes current studies and research about narcissism, helping resistant clients come to terms with their circumstances.
Learning Objectives As a result of attending this course, learners will be able to: - Identify the symptoms of narcissism.
- Identify how narcissistic tendencies appear in a variety of relationships.
- Identify classic symptom profiles of individuals who have experienced narcissistic abuse.
- Identify effective therapeutic intervention for individuals recovering from narcissistic abuse.
